Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager City Futures, the Coordinator City Strategy and Planning forms part of the City Futures Leadership Team and will lead and work collaboratively across Council and with innovators in urban policy and strategy.

The position requires an excellent communicator and strategic thinker who understands the complex issues driving change in Australian cities and someone who can progress Council policies, strategies, and initiatives required to manage these issues.

You will ensure that the service of City Strategy and Planning underpins and drives the practical delivery of strategic planning for Knox. The Coordinator will be required to oversee  the maintenance of a contemporary planning scheme and research and development of policies, through to the development of strategic planning instruments and frameworks required to align vision, people and place to the practical transformation of our City.

You will actively contribute to and demonstrate one team culture through a matrix management model of working. You will provide advice, leadership, mentoring and support to direct reports and those within key projects, with more comprehensive supervision provided to less experienced staff.
