Knox City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Waste Management Officer to join our Waste Management Team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will procure and manage in an effective and efficient manner, the Waste Management contractors of Council, and provide waste, policy and planning related advice and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.  You will also assist with the design and delivery of waste education programs to enhance Councils environmental sustainability and deliver quality waste services to the Knox Community.  

The successful applicant will have proven experience relevant to the provision of municipal waste services, with a particular emphasis on contract management, community engagement, and provision of waste related planning advice.  Well developed interpersonal and customer service skills are a must, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to prepare reports.  You will have the ability to investigate and analyse problems and make informed decisions on a day to day basis.  A valid drivers licence is also required.

Screening Criteria Essential: Proven experience relevant to the provision of municipal waste services, with particular emphasis on contract management, community engagement and provision of town planning advice in relation to waste management.
Essential: Well developed interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of management, staff and clients of Council.
Essential: The ability to investigate and analyse problems and make informed decisions on a day to day basis.
