Position Summary

Knox Council has an exciting opportunity available to join our trees team in the role of Inspecting Arborist - Tree Crew on a full time permanent basis.  This is a multi-faceted role incorporating both inspections and the associated documentation; and hands on tree works with Council’s in house team.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of tree works and working with and directing Knox Council’s in-house Tree Crew and Contractors.

You will also be responsible for proactive and reactive inspections relating to customer requests and programmed inspection cycles.

Our ideal candidate will hold a Diploma in Arboriculture or a Certificate IV in Arboriculture with the Assess Trees module.

You will also have a sound understanding of the relevant Acts and regulations which must be considered when undertaking tree works, coupled with substantial experience in tree management, including tree inspections and work allocation.

Proven experience in leading a team to achieve high quality results, the ability to prepare reports, read plans and utilise computer programs such as Microsoft Office are also a must.

Screening Criteria Essential: Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate staff and contractors to achieve established standards of performance with timeframes.
Essential: High level communication skills both verbal and written.
Essential: A minimum certificate IV in arboriculture with the assess trees module and substantial experience in tree management, including tree inspections and works allocation.
Desirable: Medium Rigid License
