Position Summary


Are you interested in an exciting and challenging team leader role, providing front-line services to the Knox community?

Our Community Laws team are an innovative group of professionals that strive to set new standards. We are seeking a leader with outstanding negotiation and communication skills, demonstrated experience in managing a team and capacity to manage a high workload. This role is a multi-skilled position which includes the supervision of animal management and local law matters.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Excellent leadership skills, experience in training and mentoring staff, and the ability to manage a compliance team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with the public across a range of complex and challenging situations.
  • Experience in investigation and enforcement.
  • Knowledge in Local Government compliance and the ability to interpret and apply legislation.
  • The ability to negotiate outcomes and solve problems.
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to the role.
  • Confidence around animals, particularly dogs.
  • High level of competency in information technology.

The usual working hours for this role will be 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with a rostered day off every 4 weeks and there will be rostered overtime to meet operational needs. A tool of trade vehicle is available for travel to and from work.
